Tsipouro is a strong distilled spirit containing 40%-45% alcohol by volume and is usually produced from the residue of the wine press. According to tradition, the first production of tsipouro was the work of Greek Orthodox monks in the 14th century on Mount Athos in Macedonia of Northern Greece. That longlasting tradition is what “Vantana Distillery Tsipouro” is all about. Made without anise, it is the product of traditional distillation of pure grapes, chosen from selected vineyards, resulting in a unique flavor and aroma.
